(11) With reference to Colonial Office letter No. 53852/38
of the 14th July on the subject of the possibility of
negotiating with the Chinese Government for the sale to
the British Government of the New Territories of Hong Kong
or for an extension of the present lease, I am directed

proposal to hold an interdepartmental meeting in the
near future to consider this matter.
